Hyperopia Test

Hyperopia is also known as farsightedness, longsightedness or hypermetropia. It’s a defect of vision caused by an imperfection in the eye that usually causes difficulty to focus on near objects. In deed usually people with hyperopia can see distant objects well but they cannot focus on near objects and the image will appear blurred because it focus at a point behind the retina. That’s because the power of the cornea and lens is insufficient (the eyeball is too short or the lens cannot become round enough), the eye is too short or a cornea is too flat. The causes of hyperopia are typically genetic.

Performing an Eye Test, an optometrist may provide the patient with an eyeglass prescription for corrective lenses.

At BLINK our Eye Test includes the examination for hyperopia. Book an appointment with a BLINK optometrist to measure and detect hyperopia and received a consultation in order to correct hyperopia with convex lenses in eyeglasses or contact lenses.
